Do your products meet ASTM standards?

Our products meet ASTM standards where a standard applies.  Some of our products do not have a standard set forth by ASTM.  However, through our ISO program, we maintain a high level of quality on these parts.  Our Manhole Steps have been approved by State DOT's and meet OSHA Guidelines.  Our Cylinders and Neoprene Pads also meet all AASHTO standards.

What colors do the test cylinders come in?

They are available in gray and white.

Do I need to order through a distributor or can I by direct from M.A.?

M.A. Industries does not have distributors under contract. We mainly sell direct to the end user. However, there are a few people who strictly buy our products for resell.

Is the steel used in your products made in the U.S.A.?

The steel used in our products is 100% U.S. steel. We receive certified mill specifications with every shipment. All of our raw materials are produced domestically.

Do you accept credit cards for payment of invoices?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Please do not email this information to us

What is OSHA’s clarification of Fixed Ladders relative to Manhole (rungs) Steps?

According to OSHA Directives 1-1.9-29 CFR 1910.27, the standard is only for fixed ladders not manhole steps in walls or risers or conical top sections of manholes. “The language used in 29 CFR 1910.27 does not indicate specifications for manhole steps in conical-shaped sanitary sewer manholes.” The standard references back to ASTM C-478 as acceptable requirements.

Is the material used in manhole steps recycled material?

In recent months, we have researched alternative materials versus prime material.  We have found a reprocessed, compounded material that meets the standards to produce quality manhole steps.  We are striving to use reprocessed materials where we can, as long as they produce the high quality product that our customers expect from us.

Are your disposable cylinder molds recyclable?

Yes, they are recyclable. Polypropylene is recyclable materials with #5 recycle number. It is not easy to find a location that will accept #5 plastic.

What is the print area for your printed cylinders?

For our 6x12 cylinders, a 7”x7” area can be used for customizing the cylinders. On our 4x8 cylinders, the area is 5”x5”.
